Irezumi - traditional Japanese tattoos by Nakamura Toshikazu in a new book out soon.

Traditional Japanese full body tattoo by Nakamura Toshikazu depicting snakes together with peony flowers.
The Japanese tattoo (Irezumi) reveals itself in various forms, mostly depending on the individual tattooer, but also owing its final shape to geographic location and how this interacts with the people living in one particular area of Japan.
Nakamura Toshikazu sensei tattoos entirly by hand using traditional tools. His southern, small town location has greatly contributed to the look of his work.

One of the last to tattoo without electrical machines, he is now presented by Kofuu-Senju Publications in a new photobook to be released at the Milan Tattoo Convention in February.

The book, titled Dentōwaza, is a strictly limited and numbered edition of 550 copies only. In order to be sure to obtain one of these, pre-ordering is highly recomended since our small editions sell out rapidly. Information on how to pre-order can be found at the top right of this blog.
